Magnetic contact, NC surface-mounted sensor, door opening switch, BSE-201, white
Dimensions: 65x12x13mm. Weight: 10g. Maximum current: 500mA/12Vdc.
Mounting hole spacing: 50mm.
This contact detects an opening of 20mm.
Wired door opening detector. The detector consists of two modules that generate a magnetic connection. As soon as the connection is broken following the opening of a door, a signal is sent to a camera, alarm control panel, etc. Specially designed to connect directly to the terminal blocks of a DVR, an analog or IP camera, or an alarm control panel.
The SC10NEW magnetic contact is surface-mounted.
It can be installed on a wooden or PVC surface.
Detects an opening of approximately 15A, 20mm.
Output on NC contact.
Maximum current: 500mA/12VDC
Magnetic Contact Mounting Rules
The break contact consists of a magnet that creates the magnetic field and a contact whose state is modified by the presence of this field. In air or on neutral materials (wood, aluminum, plaster, etc.), the magnetic field is distributed evenly around the magnet. Near ferromagnetic materials (steel, soft iron), the magnet's magnetic field is entirely attracted and captured by the material and no longer acts in other directions.
Consequently, it is essential to keep the magnets and contacts sufficiently far from magnetic supports using specific spacers. To verify whether a material is ferromagnetic or not, use the contact's magnet. If there is attraction between the magnet and the material, the latter is ferromagnetic.
Operating Principle of a Normally Closed (NC) Magnetic Opening Detector
Opening detectors are used on exits or access points that require protection.
Each detector consists of two parts:
a contact installed on the door frame and a magnet on the moving part.
The contact is a reed switch (RLS or reed contact). When the magnet is moved away from the RLS, the reed contact is open. The control panel receives information indicating an open door or window; if the security system is armed, the alarm is triggered. When the magnet approaches the contact, the two reeds of the RLS are subjected to the magnetic field. Each reed then behaves like a magnet. The flexible reed deforms and comes into contact with the rigid reed. Electrical contact is established; the control panel receives information indicating a closed position. In this case, the alarm will not be triggered. The most commonly used contacts are NC (closed at rest and open in alarm). These contacts must be connected in series to a normally closed zone of your alarm system. A major advantage of these contacts is that opening a single contact or a cable cut triggers the alarm.
There are two types of opening detectors (NC and NO):
- NC magnetic opening detector (normally closed contact = no alarm, open contact in alarm)
- NO magnetic opening detector (normally open contact = no alarm, closed contact in alarm)
If you wish to order one or more NO magnetic opening detectors, please visit our website (ref. 3920).
The SC10N opening detector is not suitable for directly powering a 12V or 220V siren.
However, the opening detector (ref. 3920) can be used with a small 12V siren and a switch.
