The ultrasonic module has to be connected following the mounting diagram. It could be operated with voltages from 12 V up 15 Volt direct current voltage (vehicle or lorry battery). It is also possible to operate the module with a commercial plug-in power supply 12 V= (current supply at 12 V= < 50 mA). It is feasible to connect 1 up to 4 piezo-loudspeakers. The cables leading to the loudspeakers could be up to 50 metres. Con-sidering that ultrasonic sounds show a direct radiation, it is necessary to mount at different places one of the enclosed loudspeakers (in order to avoid 'shadows'). The loudspeakers and the module should be mounted weatherproof (never expo-se it to direct humidity). Starting operation of the module, the integrated light emitting diode flashes. With the aid of a small screwdriver it is feasible to adjust the frequency at the module. Positioning the adjustment control of the module on approx. position 1, there will be heard a high sound. Adjusting the control towards the right side, the sound will become even higher and, at least, unhearable (ultrasonic sound).
In the following we would like to state experimental values indicating which frequencies may be used with each animal in or-der to achieve best results: birds approx. 10 kHz: control position 1...2 rodents approx. 24...32 kHz: control position 8...9 insects approx. 27...35 kHz: control position 9...10
